Expert Witness at Public Inquiry
Baker Shepherd Gillespie can provide expert witness services on a range of ecological matters. The partners and other members of staff have several years of experience in preparing and presenting proofs of evidence at planning appeals and examinations in public. Over the last 10 years Dr Peter Shepherd and James Gillespie have presented evidence at or prepared information for nearly 20 inquiries. These have covered issues such as the impacts of new airport developments, wind farm impacts on bats, local development frameworks, other strategic planning inquiries and specific development projects. They have been supported by the experience of other staff and partners who have prepared and presented evidence.
We have represented both commercial clients promoting development proposals and local authority clients defending decisions to refuse planning permission. Our experience in this field means that we are familiar with the procedures and protocols associated with the public inquiry process.
