About...
Baker Shepherd Gillespie provides a wide range of ecological services to a diverse client base. We cover three main areas of work: development projects, land management and research and training.
Development projects
BSG offers a full ecological service, from a full range of surveys for preliminary ecological appraisal of potential constraints through to ecological impact assessment, biodiversity design of mitigation measures, input into masterplanning, representation at public inquiry and Ecological Clerk of Works during construction.
Land management
We have a wealth of experience of providing advice on land management for biodiversity. This includes internationally important sites, local nature reserves and new green spaces within development schemes.
Research and training
BSG has developed its own standards for ecological survey and consultancy practice (see Standards) and we provide professional training to fellow consultants and academic courses. We continue to contribute to the growing ecological knowledge base in the UK through research commissions and our own biodiversity research grant.
