BSG Ecology is delighted to have been short-listed for two prestigious CIEEM awards; Medium Scale Consultancy of the Year and the Large Scale Mitigation and Enhancement Award.
The Medium Scale Consultancy Award short-listing (for companies employing between 11 and 40 ecologists) recognises both BSG Ecology’s high quality technical work, and our demonstrable commitment to supporting the professional development of our staff. It also reflects our contributions in sharing learning and good practice with clients and peers, and our involvement in the promotion of ecological consultancy as a profession.
The Large Scale Mitigation and Enhancement Award submission was based on the Western Peripheral Road, a strategic infrastructure project essential to the future growth of Peterborough, Cambridgeshire. We were responsible for the design and agreement with stakeholders of innovative mitigation for great crested newts, as well as substantial habitat creation to benefit a range of species. Monitoring has shown this to be a great success, with the internationally important newt population increasing, an assemblage of rare stoneworts becoming established, and wide-ranging ecosystem services resulting.
Being short-listed for both of these awards is a credit to the hard work, expertise and determination of our staff across our six UK offices. We are looking forward to attending the award ceremony in London on 21 June 2018.
