Kerry Elliott

Kerry Elliot

Kerry has worked as a professional ecologist since 2006 and joined BSG Ecology as a Senior Ecologist in July 2009.

Kerry has a sound understanding of current biodiversity policy and planning guidance, protected species legislation and survey and assessment methodologies.  She has managed a number of large and complex schemes, working closely with engineers, statutory authorities, local action groups and clients. Kerry is a good all round ecologist with strengths in communication and stakeholder consultation, she has provided effective solutions to ecological challenges for clients. Kerry has experience of writing numerous ecology chapters for Environmental Statements and has prepared a Proof of Evidence and rebuttal documents as part of an arbitration hearing.

Kerry has a wide range of field work experience, including surveys for Phase 1, hedgerows, river corridor, water vole, otter, harvest mouse, badger, European brown hare, reptiles, great crested newt, bats and dormouse. The study outcomes of this field work have been used to guide masterplan design, complete BREAAM and Code for Sustainable Homes assessments and development mitigation strategies that have subsequently been successfully implemented through European Protected Species Licences. Kerry has held a licence for great crested newt since 2006.

Prior to joining BSG Ecology, Kerry worked as an ecologist at a multidisciplinary consultancy, having previously worked for BAA Heathrow over-seeing the management and ecological survey work of the airport’s 10 conservation sites.
