Bat work is a particular specialism
of BSG. We have nine full-time and three part-time licensed
and experienced bat surveyors. BSG surveyors collectively
have over 80 years of bat survey experience and have
worked on a large variety of bat related projects including
highways building, canal restoration, railway development,
residential and commercial developments, flood alleviation
schemes, underground/mine stabilisation work, pipeline
construction and surveys of designated sites of nature
conservation.
We have experience in providing bat related advice
to government and non-government bodies, preparing European
Protected Species licences, designing a wide range of
mitigation and in developing and delivering training
courses on bat surveying.
Our staff are trained in the latest bat survey techniques,
including remote detection and recording and several
sound analysis systems. We also have staff with confined
spaces training and an extensive range of survey equipment
including time expansion and frequency division bat
detectors, minidisk recorders, infra-red video recorders,
hand nets, automated detectors (Anabats) and access
equipment.
We routinely work in England, Scotland and Wales and
are familiar with the legislation variations that occur
in the different parts of the UK. BSG is in an excellent
position to deliver your bat survey requirements regardless
of the type of work or the region.
