We lost a treasured colleague on May 4th this year. Philippa was diagnosed with cancer in July 2017. She’d been doing a good job of ignoring it, as best she could, getting out into the Peak to walk Bridie, her beloved border terrier, and was hopeful for the future. She died after a short spell in St Luke’s Hospice in Sheffield.
Phil was a very passionate and experienced ecologist and seemed to have lived and worked in all corners of the UK during her career, before settling in Sheffield. She joined BSG Ecology in 2002, becoming a Principal Consultant in 2008. Phil had a disarming sense of humour and her mixed metaphors and knack of being inappropriate, usually by accident, always caused great hilarity. She was great fun to work with, a very committed diligent and caring professional, hugely valued by colleagues and clients; she’ll be deeply missed.
