22 Oct 2012 BSG Ecology at RenewableUK, Glasgow (Stand 67)
BSG Ecology is exhibiting at Stand 67 of Renewable UK, Glasgow between 30th October and 1st November 2012. The conference is at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC), Glasgow and will address policy, development and technical aspects of UK onshore and offshore wind energy, wave and tidal energy.
BSG Ecology ecologists and renewable specialists, Dr Peter Shepherd, Hannah Bilston, Guy Miller and Matt Hobbs will be manning the stand and will be happy to talk about these and other ecology issues with you.
Matt will be giving a presentation to the conference “Applying the Bat Conservation Trust survey guidelines for onshore wind farms” which will provide an overview of the guidance and includes a review of how it contributes to robust ecological assessment. Matt’s presentation will be on Thursday 1st November 10.30-12.00 (Session C10, Carron room, First Floor).
Since the last conference BSG Ecology has been involved in numerous wind farm projects throughout the UK, successfully provided expert witness advice to two wind farm planning appeals, and designed and supervised the implementation of a bat survey programme for a proposed 20 turbine wind farm in Poland. During this time we have also witnessed a number of key developments relevant to wind farms and ecology, including significant appeal decisions, new survey guidance, and emerging case law.
We look forward to seeing you there or if you wish to arrange a discussion in advance, please one of contact the ecology team:
