Amy Scott

Amy joined BSG Ecology as a Senior Ecologist in January 2022. Prior to joining BSG she worked within multi-disciplinary consultancies where she worked on large infrastructure projects, public and private sector residential developments, road and rail schemes, quarry and solar projects.

Amy has a broad range of survey experience including great crested newts, badger, bats, reptiles, red squirrel, water vole. She has a particular interest in botanical survey and regularly leads extended Phase 1 habitat surveys and hedgerows surveys. Amy holds a Natural England Level 1 Survey Class licence for great crested newts.

Amy has experience in producing technical reports including PEA, Landscape and Ecological Management Plans (LEMP), Biodiversity Gain and BREEAM assessments, as well as analysis of species data.

Amy completed a BSc (Hons) degree in Animal Behaviour at the University of Chester and an MSc in Conservation Biology at Manchester Metropolitan University. For her postgraduate thesis, she researched the impacts of a road development on the abundance and diversity of herpetofauna, along a road-edge gradient in San José de Payamino, in Ecuador. She also has experience volunteering with Cheshire Wildlife Trust, Northumberland Wildlife Trust and the Amphibian and Reptile Group.
