Fiona joined BSG Ecology in September 2021.
Fiona has experience conducting extended Phase 1 habitat survey and surveys for protected species including great crested newts, bats, reptiles, badgers, water vole, otter and hazel dormouse. She holds a Level 1 Natural England Survey Class licence for bats and for great crested newt. She has been involved in delivering residential, commercial and public sector development proposals, some of which comprise nationally significant infrastructure projects (NSIPs).
Fiona’s written outputs include ecological appraisals, mitigation strategies and other technical documents to inform planning applications. She has also provided ecological input into BREEAM assessments.
Fiona has a BSc (Hons) degree in Biology with Employment Experience, obtained from the University of Sheffield in 2018. Prior to joining BSG, Fiona spent several years working for consultancies in Hampshire, Warwickshire and Lancashire. She also has experience working with Sheffield and Rotherham Wildlife Trust conducting woodland surveys and volunteering for conservation bodies such as the Peak District National Park conducting habitat management work.
