Judith has worked in professional consultancy since 2007 and joined BSG Ecology in 2012.
Judith has experience delivering the ecological elements of a wide range of projects including major infrastructure and mixed use developments, heritage lottery funded schemes and industrial development in environmentally sensitive locations.
Judith provides ecological input to all stages of projects from Phase 1 Habitat Survey and identification of ecological constraints and opportunities to inform masterplans for large sites, through to post planning discharge of conditions and on-site ecological supervision. Judith’s experience includes undertaking Ecological Impact Assessment (EcIA), ecological appraisals, preparation of biodiversity management plans and input to Conservation Management Plans. Judith also undertakes a range of protected species surveys including badger, reptiles, great crested newt and bats and has prepared European Protected Species Licence applications and mitigation strategies for great crested newt. Judith has also carried out BREEAM (and Code for Sustainable Homes) assessments and prepared site management plans and living roof strategies (green, brown and amenity) to maximize biodiversity in urban environments.
Judith started her career in 2007 with Gifford LLP, a multidisciplinary consultancy, that was acquired by Ramboll Group in 2011; Judith led the provision of ecology services in the midlands and northern offices. Judith is a Chartered Ecologist (CEcol) and a full member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management.
Judith has a particular interest in historic landscapes and structures and the challenges presented securing the sustainable future of these places in tandem with their often exceptional biodiversity interest.
