Rosie has worked in ecological consultancy since 2017 and joined BSG Ecology in April 2022. Prior to joining BSG she worked for a UK-wide consultancy, where she was mainly involved in the delivery of infrastructure and residential projects.
Rosie has experience of carrying out surveys for great crested newt, bat, barn owl, badger, otter and water vole. She holds a Level 1 Natural England Survey Class licence for great crested newt, a Level 2 Natural England Survey Class Licence for bats and a Natural England Survey Class licence for barn owl. She spent six months undertaking an Ecology Traineeship with the Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wildlife Trust in 2017, during which she completed surveys for the water vole recovery project, rapid habitat assessments and a wide range of protected species surveys. Rosie is currently involved in project management and delivery, is proficient in GIS and the production of bird and ecological assessment reports. She is actively working towards her dormouse survey licence.
Rosie has a BSc (Hons) in Conservation Biology and an MSc in Ecology and Conservation from Lancaster University for which she completed an independent research project investigating the impact of territory quality on the breeding success of Eurasian dippers. In her spare time Rosie is training her two dogs to be conservation detection dogs, principally focussing on bird and bat carcass detection.
