BSG Ecology is thrilled to announce wins in the Best (Medium) Consultancy category and Large-scale Mitigation Project category, for our work at the Landscove Holiday Park, Devon, at the CIEEM awards. This is the second time BSG has won in the Best Medium Consultancy category, following our win in the inaugural awards in 2018.
BSG Ecology and Tawnywood have been Highly Commended for the Best Biodiversity Enhancement at the Brownfield Awards 2020 for our work at Hartington Reclamation Site in Derbyshire. The Brownfield Awards are dedicated to acknowledging best practice in the brownfield, regeneration and contaminated land industry.
The Walthamstow Wetlands project was successful in the ‘Adding Value through Landscape’ category at the 2019 Landscape Awards. BSG Ecology were involved in the project for seven years, designing the ornithological survey protocol and undertaking three years of monitoring, demonstrating that the mitigation was effective.
BSG Ecology, The Ecology Consultancy, Temple Group, University of Bristol and HS2 Ltd won the Innovation Award and were joint winners of the Environmental Acoustics in Infrastructure Award for their collaborative research into the use of acoustic deterrents as part of a bat mitigation strategy for the proposed new rail line.
In 2019 BSG Ecology won the Best Small-scale Mitigation Award for our work with O&H Hampton and Buglife on brownfield habitat creation at Hampton East, Peterborough and the Tony Bradshaw Award (for outstanding best practice).
BSG Ecology were highly commended for the Best (Medium) Ecology Consultancy Award. Following on from our win in 2018 it provides further recognition of the quality of BSG’s work, the commitment to developing staff and to promoting the profession.
BSG Ecology was awarded the Best (Medium) Ecology Consultancy in the inaugural CIEEM awards in 2018. We were delighted to be the first ecology consultancy to be recognized for our work and commitment to staff in our 20th year of business.
BSG Ecology were Highly Commended by CIEEM in the Large-scale Mitigation and Enhancement Award category for our work on the Western Peripheral Road, a strategic infrastructure project essential to the future growth of Peterborough, Cambridgeshire.
In 2013 we were delighted that our collaborative work with LDA Design on the Network Rail National Lineside Vegetation Management Strategy won the Strategic Landscape Planning section of the Landscape Institute Awards. BSG provided advice on how habitats and species should be considered.
BSG Ecology was delighted to receive the inaugural award for Best Bat Roost Mitigation Project in 2012 from the Bat Conservation Trust for our work at Totterdown Barns in Gloucestershire. The Roost Awards promote best practice bat roost mitigation and enhancement.
A joint brown roof project between BSG Ecology and LDA Design, at the Royal Arsenal Riverside in Woolwich won the Biodiversity Award at the Sustain Magazine Awards in 2010. The award is given in recognition of schemes that demonstrate conservation benefits and biodiversity enhancement.
BSG Ecology and LDA Design were Highly Commended at the Landscape Institute Awards for the Thames Basin Heaths project. Thames Basin Heaths are designated as a Special Protection Area (SPA) and are internationally important for nature conservation.
